Street

I've said it before, and I will say it again.  Chicago needs to get some decent street musicians.  The bucket boys and the occasional off-key saxophone player accompanied by a boom-box just don't cut it on the world stage.  Paris street musicians always have something interesting to say.  This trio was playing straight-ahead gypsy jazz (Irving Berlin's Dancing Cheek to Cheek in the movie Top Hat) as shoppers in the Marais walked and sometimes scooted by.  Lovely.  Maybe Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett will show up and join them tomorrow.  A half a block from our apartment at 4 Rue Elzevir.

Billy Collins on Guitar; David Landes on Clarinet and Saxophone; and Jeff Hallan on Bass.  We bought both CDs.  You have to support street musicians.
