About 150 people gathered outside the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 for a rally and march commemorating the life of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, that man who was gunned down in the streets of Minneapolis by two U.S. Border Patrol agents. U.S. Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino returned to Chicago this week to highlight that ICE and the the U.S. Border Patrol are still rounding up migrants. The Little Village Community staged a demonstration Wednesday, December 17 in opposition to the Donald J. Trump’s deportation efforts. Here are my thoughts about and images from the demonstration.
