On Saturday, January 24, 2026, Indivisible Chicago called for an emergency rally in Logan Square at the Illinois Centennial Memorial following the killing earlier in the day of Alex Jeffrey Pretti by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis. U.S. Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino returned to Chicago this week to highlight that ICE and the the U.S. Border Patrol are still rounding up migrants. The Little Village Community staged a demonstration Wednesday, December 17 in opposition to the Donald J. Trump’s deportation efforts. Here are my thoughts about and images from the demonstration.
