Saturday, January 24, 2026 proved to be another cold day in Chicago, with temperatures hovering near 0° F. Nevertheless, Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef and another demonstrator staged a rally at Congress Plaza in Grant Park demanding that ICE be abolished. Nearby six or seven members of Chicago’s Iranian Community held a demonstration calling for regime change in Iran. Here are my thoughts about an images from the two events.

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, members of Chicago’s Iranian Community held a demonstration in Congress Plaza (adjacent ot Grant Park) in support of those in Iran who are demonstrating against the existing theocratic regime. The event proved to be an excellent opportunity to learn about what is transpiring in Iran. Here are my thoughts about and images from the demonstration.
Three men were executed in Iran this past Friday. Today, members of Chicago’s Iranian community gathered in Millennium Park for a demonstration followed by a march designed to highlight these and other executions of political prisoners by the Iranian authorities.
