The United Nations General Assembly held its 81st annual session this week. Not surprisingly, the meeting attracted a number of groups who wanted to address issues facing those who remained in their ancestral homelands. I was fortunate enough to be in New York City to attend several of those demonstrations. Here are my thoughts about and images about what transpired.
October 31 came and went. For three hours, the streets of New York City were filled with ghouls and cultural icons as tens of thousands of participants marched up 6th Avenue during the annual Village Halloween Parade. Here are my thoughts and plenty of my images from this wonderful spectacle.
Once again, I was on 6th Avenue in New York City’s Greenwich Village for the annual Village Halloween Parade, where over one million spectators and participants joined me, everyone of us seeking a brief respite from the two-year lead-up to next Tuesday’s presidential election. I spent Saturday at a rally outside the Brooklyn Museum, followed by a march that shut down the Brooklyn Bridge. By far the most newsworthy aspect of the day was the Hassidic Jews who marched with the Palestinian Community because the they believe Israel is in the wrong. I spent four mornings checking out the WGA, SAG, AFTRA strike in New York City this week. It was then off to an afternoon of tea and cake. Here are my thoughts about and images from the writers’ and actors’ strike.
