I spent a week in New York City beginning July 21. While there, I visited several museums, went to both Governors Island and Ellis Island, and did plenty of walking. Here are my thoughts about and photographs from an invigorating week.

NYC Zeitgeist
Signs are everywhere in New York City, taking many forms. Collectively, the signage reveals our collective consciousness. On this trip, the signage brought together Halloween and the Presidential election, which complemented each other. One produced anxiety, while the other reduced it. Once again, I was on 6th Avenue in New York City’s Greenwich Village for the annual Village Halloween Parade, where over one million spectators and participants joined me, everyone of us seeking a brief respite from the two-year lead-up to next Tuesday’s presidential election.
